10 Anti-Irish Cartoons From Back in the Day (Happy St. Paddy’s Day You Filthy Mic Bastards)
Posted by Sickpigs.com in Original, Videos
Happy St. Paddy’s Day you filthy mic bastards. I hope you can stop breeding like flies just long enough to have a look at these historical anti-Irish cartoons. They’re as relevant now as they were back then, so enjoy, you drunken, potato eating, pope-worshiping clover monkeys!
(Click on the pictures for a larger view!)
Simian Irishman (1867) - “St. Patrick’s Day, …Rum, Blood, The Day We Celebrate.” A brutal attack on the police in an Irish riot. Looks like New York’s or the Chicago South-Side Parade (without all the vomit).
Everybody Works But Father (1905) - Image of your typical Irishman, rocking at home while his family does wash to earn income.
The Usual Irish Way of Doing Things (1871) - An angry ape-like Irish man sits on a barrel labeled: “Uncle Sam’s Gun Powder.”
Killing the Golden Goose (1878) - An Irish thug and a filthy Catholic priest carve up the Democratic Party (portrayed as the goose that laid the golden eggs).
Uncle Sam’s Lodging House (1882) - Of all the immigrants, only the Irishman is causing trouble. Even the “Negro” is getting along with everyone, and something tells me “Negroes” weren’t all that popular in 1882.
The Mortar of Assimilation (1889) - Again, only the Irish immigrant is causing trouble.
The Irish Declaration of Independence (1883) - “Stereotypical image of the Irish American woman who is large, with big feet and muscular arms and a violent, domineering temper.” Must remind you of your mom, eh Shamus?
The Ignorant Vote (1876) - Harper’s Weekly depicts the “ape-like” Irish (or “White Negro”) Democrats in the north balancing out the Republican-voting blacks of the south. The title “Obama vs. McCain” wouldn’t have made sense at the time (mainly for geographic reasons). Classy, Harper’s Weekly. Real classy.
The Propagation Society (1855) - An anti-Catholic cartoon, reflecting the nativist perception of the threat posed by the Roman Church’s influence through Irish immigration and Catholic education. Obliviously they hadn’t heard of pedophilia at the time.
American Gold (1882) - “We work for it. (The Irish) wait for it.”
Bonus - Shane MacGowan of the Pogues Drunk Off His Ass (any night ever) - The Irish have come a long way!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
Most of these cartoons were made by Thomas Nast, a patriot born rightwise to this fine land (actually, he was a Kraut). He was the Norman Rockwell of anti-Irish bigotry, and the father of American-political cartoons.
Most of the notes were taken from these two websites. Thanks.

Chances are good, and you know this is true, that there is/ are similar animated (or not) depictions of your ancestry. Everybody is worthy of mockery to some degree and if you think you are above that- Kill yourself now and do the world a favor.

Dago? Do you really think we hate the fucking Irish? It was St. Paddy’s Day, so we gave them shit.
“Everybody is worthy of mockery to some degree and if you think you are above that”
What gave you the idea that we think we’re above it? We run a shitty blog for Christ’s sake. Get over it, asshole.
The Irish run America now, so get over it you wasp saddo
Great resource. People against immigration today, especially those with last names like Hannity, O’Reilly, and Dobbs should learn what their ancestors went through.
Yes, Nate, the cartoons you saw on Sickpigs.com completely invalidate the opinions of anyone who is for tighter immigration laws. Thanks for reading.
The Scottish, Welsh, Gauls, Celtibarians, and last of all, the Irish, are all Inferior. Not all, but a number of Irish people have Negro (Monkey-Ape) like features which basically means they are racially inferior to the Teutonic race, Slavic, and Persian races of the Indo-European father race.
Fuck off, you Nazi cunt.
this site is for unemployed fucks spending their days being pointlessly racist. oh and don’t say ‘youre just giving shit’ its obviously racist dickhead!
Nazi cunt? A bit hypocritical dickhead!
The difference, Anonymous, is that we put these up as a joke on St. Paddy’s day, and the Irish don’t face the discrimination they used to. The cartoons were from he 1800’s, for Christ’s sake. It was, as you put it, “pointlessly racist,” or as we call it, “sarcastic.”
Rudolf’s post, as far as we can tell, was completely serious, and read like a page out of Mein Kampf. So if he wants to post that, why not call him a NAZI fuck?
I love you.
Pahohoho. People need to chill the fuck out. Im irish, and I find these cartoons pretty amusing! Isnt that just fucking ridiculous!
Thank you sickpigs.com, i had a giggle. But also fuck you.. just because.
And Rudolf.. you are a NAZI fuck.
what you getting at you red nose fuck. if the slavics and persians are so superior to the celts , why are half of the fucks camped on our shores , taking or jobs , and creaming our social welfare system.
I’m second-generation Irish American. I was searching for old cartoons to show a friend how the Irish were portrayed/treated/thought of in this country “way back.” Then I saw “Happy St. Paddy’s Day You Filthy Mic Bastards”! Ok, maybe I should be offended by the whole thing, but I thought it was hysterical. Fortunately, God gave my Irish brain enough capacity (and irreverence) to know a joke when I see it. So funny! hehehehehe
dats sum fucked up shit man, whoever put that stuff up needs to seriously get help, don’t do this to yourself, just do your best to treat others right, if you continue in your disgraceful ways……..so sad…….
It’s a joke you moron. The people who made these cartoons have been dead for well over 100 years. Get a life, and some perspective. And then learn how to spell.
@Irish.Rose:
Seco9nd generation Irish isn’t Irish it’s AMERICAN! Yanks can’t let their imagined roots go…
hey rudolf..a.k.a adolf, can you sound any more ignorant? I dare you to walk up to an irishmen and repeat that bullshit you just copied out of a book. When you’re done getting your teeth knocked out, please share yuour experience…
